Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade players will play on Saturday afternoons at Bird Middle School (from Sep 7th until Nov 9th) and will also have midweek evening practices (Mon, Tues and Thu evenings) at Fisher Field. The midweek program is expected to start the last week of August.
The INTown program consists largely of skills clinics supervised by professional coaches, followed by games. These are the expected times for each group:
Saturday sessions (Sep 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, Oct 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, Nov 2nd & 9th)
1st grade Girls & Boys 12:00pm-1.00pm (teams will be separated by gender)
Kindergarten (coed) 1.30pm -2.30pm
2nd grade Girls & Boys 3pm - 4pm (teams will be separated by gender)
In addition, there will be Midweek skills clinics at Fisher Field:
1st Grade; Mondays (Aug 26th, Sep 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th)
2nd Grade; Tuesdays (Aug 27th, Sep 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and Oct 1st)
3rd Grade; Wednesdays (Aug 28th, Sep 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th and Oct 2nd)
1st & 2nd Grade; Thursdays (Aug 29th, Sep 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th and Oct 3rd)
The midweek sessions run for 6 weeks and are designed to give your players more opportunity to develop their skills under the supervision of professional coaches, at an earlier age. They will be more position-specific, station-based training; allowing kids to learn the nuances of playing as a striker, midfielder, defender and even goalkeeping.
Each week your player should bring;
1. their shirt (Kindergartners receive a shirt to keep week 1, while 1st & 2nd grade players receive a reversible shirt on week 1 that 'must be returned at end of the season')
3. shin pads
4. size 3 ball (K players will receive a ball on week 1, 1st & 2nd grade players are to bring their own ball) which should have their name written on it
5. re-useable water bottle (with name written on it!)
Please check the website each week before heading to the fields for weather or field updates.
Volunteer (parent) coaches are always welcome and asked to arrive 30 mins early each week. They will be provided an itinerary and demonstration by one of our professional coaches, who will remain throughout the entire session to step in and assist. No playing experience is necessary to be a successful volunteer coach. You will also enjoy a significant discount for future player registration.
