U9 is the transition year into BAYS travel soccer. The U9 teams (composed largely of 3rd grade players) play a modified travel schedule; traveling to nearby towns for away games, hosting those same towns for home games, and also continuing to play some games vs. other WYSA U9 teams. There will be at least one team practice session each week - organized at the coach's discretion. The focus is on learning the nuances of competitive soccer, in a fun, team oriented environment. While the teams do compete, the emphasis is on education and not on results.
A big THANK YOU you to Kent Hollister for all his volunteer hours as a WYSA coach, and for using the VERIZON Foundation “Volunteer Incentive Program” which made a donation of $750 to support the programs of Walpole Youth Soccer and the children of Walpole MA.
