Failure to do so will undermine the referee’s authority and has the potential of creating a hostile environment for the players, the referee, and all the other participants and spectators. U9 is the transition year into BAYS travel soccer. The U9 teams (composed largely of 3rd grade players) play a modified travel schedule; traveling to nearby towns for away games, hosting those same towns for home games, and also continuing to play some games vs. other WYSA U9 teams. There will be at least one team practice session each week - organized at the coach's discretion. The focus is on learning the nuances of competitive soccer, in a fun, team oriented environment. While the teams do compete, the emphasis is on education and not on results.
